The map below is from the THP document. The information portrayed is from the RPF (forester). This information can be contested by the public if they have alternative or contrasting information about the land. The base map is a standard 7.5 minute USGS topo. The second map below is a colorized map produced by the Conservancy which has certain differences in regard to condition on the land. We have hired specialists and bought considerable air photos that are the source of our information. Topo maps are only an approximation of the actual terrain. They tend to miss complex or extreme terrain features which are present on the land. These conditions are common for the Lompico Headwaters area "Islandia". |

THP Erosion Hazard Rating map. Erosion hazard (EHR) in THPs is rated by slope and soil condition. The formula is rather arbitrary and has inherent errors. For instance the soil maps that the RPFs use are not necessarily accurate. Non the less this logging plan has extensive areas of high and extreme EHR ratings. High is H, Extreme is E and Moderate is M. There is no low erosion hazard in the THP area. |
